Bann Valley Trout Fishery offers quality brown and rainbow trout fishing in the most tranquil of settings. It is set in a quiet rural location between Ballymoney and Kilrea and is the ideal spot to get away from it all and enjoy some fly fishing. The established man-made lake has been created by the McFadden family and is designed to attract wildlife with the addition of an island in the centre of the lake providing sanctuary for ducks, water hens and swans.Anglers will receive a warm welcome from either Gary or Colin Stewart, the Fishery Manager at Bann Valley. Both have an excellent knowledge of the lake and will give you all the help you need to have a truly memorable experience.Fishing is on the basis of catch and release and the average catch weighs 2lb-3lb, however there are a number of specimen fish up to 13lb in weight.Facilities include a toilet and there is a comfortable shelter with roof windows, electric and a log-burning stove for fishermen to relax and discuss the day's catch over a welcome hot drink. While primarily a fisherman's haven the surroundings have been landscaped with trees and seating areas have been provided for people to relax and enjoy nature at its best.Children are welcome under supervision of an adult. Dogs must be well behaved and kept on a lead. Groups and coaches by prior arrangement. The lake is open all year round Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 09:00 to dusk.
